VL Celebrates the Inaugural Impact Expo
Impact Maker Expo
April 2022
Last month, Valley Leadership hosted its inaugural Impact Maker Expo. The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts became a central hub for community impact and showcased how Arizona’s leaders work to address the state’s most pressing issues.
Our six active Impact Maker Teams and strategic partners came together to build a Little Free Library, share stories about the importance of FAFSA completion, reduce the stigma of opioid use disorder, sample coffee from Justice Java and take home produce from a local community garden, Spaces of Opportunity ― and more!
To wrap up an afternoon of hands-on activities and speakers sessions featuring Anaiis Ballesteros, Dr. Antoinette Farmer-Thompson, Claire Louge, Corey Woods and John Koch, attendees also heard from Mayor David Ortega and VL’s Man and Woman of the Year, Dr. Warren Stewart and Kimber Lanning.
With over 120 leaders in attendance, the event was success and none of it would have been possible without the generous support of the VL community. We’re excited to see so many leaders driven to do for Arizona!
